1. I have corrupt data, how do I fix it?

Rather than try to repair your historic data it is much easier to delete the data by selecting ‘Delete Data’ in the data screen (File - Database). This does not delete the ticker. When you update next time your data will be filled with the last 2 years data (if available).

2. How do I account for splits?

Rather than try to adjust your historic data it is much easier to delete the data by selecting ‘Delete Data’ in the Data screen (File - Database). This does not delete the ticker. When you update next time your data will be filled with the last 2 years data (if available). The data from the Yahoo server is automatically adjusted for splits.

3. How do I delete just one indicator from my chart.

To delete just one indicator select the indicator in the ‘Interpretation box’( top right 'Show Interpretation')right click and select 'Delete Indicator'.

4. What is a layout?

A layout is a method of saving a selected configuration of indicators. For example if you have your favourite 5 indicators you can save this as a layout and then apply it to any stocks you wish to chart. Layouts are automatically saved as the 'active layout' This is basically whichever chart layout is currently active. Chart layouts can be found at the top of the chart numbered 1 to 12)

5. How do I update my chart to show todays data?

If you created a chart say 2 weeks a ago and now wish to update it to show the latest data you need to simply update the database then re-select your ticker

6. How do I chart 2 stocks overlaid?

Open the chart with the first stock then click the ‘Overlay Button’ on the top right of the toolbar, you can now select the second stock to chart. The overlaid stock is shown with the primary chart lines red rather than green for the normal stock.

7. How do I delete an overlaid stock?

Select the down arrow beside the ‘Add Overlay Stock’ Button and select ‘delete overlay equity’.

8. How do see the prices of the stock and values of the indicators for any particular day?

Hold down the left mouse button whilst you move around the chart. This will display all the values of all series in that chart area.

9. How do I add a ticker for exchanges other than the US?

The same as any other ticker except there will usually be an extension. For example Sage UK will be SGE.L and Alpha Brazil will be ALPA4.SE. To find the ticker with extension select lookup ticker, this will take you to the Yahoo Lookup Ticker page, when searching select ‘World Markets’ from the drop down underneath the Market label.

10. Can I add stocks that are not in my database to my accounts?

Yes - but you will not get a current value unless you are viewing your accounts using Intraday values.
If you have exited the position you will not get the chart value between the buy and sell dates.

11. What do the green ticks and red crosses in my Accounts mean?

A green tick indicates that the price data for a given ticker was found successfully. For EOD this is the last data you have available for that stock. For Intraday that means it has successfully found the latest Intraday prices. The data and time of the price is shown. A red cross means price data was not found.

12. I updated my data it showed OK but did nothing.

This situation occurs when linited access to the internet is available, usually on a corporate network where internet access is password protected. Access is allowed to the Yahoo server but the data is not beeing downloaded. Presently we are investigating possible fixes for this problem.

13. My internet access is though a proxy. How do I enter this?

Simply enter your proxy details in the settings page. You can open the settings page from the top menu TOOLS - SETTINGS then select the 'CONNECTION' tab. Don't forget to save.

14. Whats the quickest way to add a ticker?

Type in the ticker into the ''Quick Display' text box and hit GO>> This will download the last two years data and display it. Now press the 'ADD TO WATCHLIST' button. If the ticker is not on your database it will automatically store all of the data you just downloaded and add it to the UNIVERSE watch list. If you had a watch list other than the universe open the ticker will also be added to that too.
